MULTI-FREQUENCY/MULTI-PROTOCOL 125 kHz to 5800 MHz Some Sentinel RFID reader modules and fully packaged readers have built-in architectural support for connecting multiple antennas, so the polling sequence can multiplex the read/write cycles. This can be automatic, event-based or sequential with a time-delay-based approach. All of this is user selectable under our proprietary firmware. The typical trade-off between using multiplexed or dedicated read modules involves timing issues, throughput needs (# of reads per second), and latency. Our architectures, in some cases, also support multiple multiplexers connected to same reader (up to 8 antennas per reader). This give our solutions one of the lowest, best-in-class cost per read-point. We typically use multiplexers for gated community access controls (multiple entrances/exits) or industrial control of PLCs in multi-unit, networked environments. Sentinel also offers an 8-port antenna multiplexer (MUX) module designed for the latest ISO-15693 high frequency smart label reader family. This MUX can accept up to 8 antennas on each port, thus giving users the ability to control 64 antennas. Please call us at (972) 491-3005 for detailed specs and pricing information. For new RFID/ADC system development and consulting projects, please use our application development data input sheet to provide us with your requirements. We will use this information to generate a quote for your custom application.
