LOW FREQUENCY (125 - 134 kHz) Sentinel has developed a family of low frequency RFID reader modules covering the above frequency spectrum. These full-featured readers are customizable with TTL, RS-232, RS-422/485, USB and the latest wireless interfaces, including Bluetooth for communication with a PC, host server, or PLC.
We begin creating our custom readers by selecting the optimum basic frequency, standards and format compliant RFID reader ASIC building block from reputed and proven OEM partners. We then complement that with our unique, patented and proprietary value-added elements. These include our embedded firmware to give our modules user-defined personality as well as performance enhancing control parameters. We deploy variable duty-cycle, clamping, power cycling, delays, temperature compensation, frequency hopping, modulation control, security/cryptography features, and anti-collision algorithms to match reader performance with customer requirements within the customer's intended application. Our modules come in various form-factors, including PCMCIA plug-in cards with on-board EEPROM or separate FLASH memory cards for program and/or user data. We also provide unique accessories such as tuning boards, multiplexers and protocol converters. Our reader module is then tailored to operate with our custom antenna solution for controlling the read-range and read-speed performance. We offer simple stand-alone element antennas as well as dual-multiplexed antenna pairs (active and/or mirrored). Our multi-element arrays create antenna portals to provide enhanced range, omni-directional, or 3-D read coverage so that critical items can be identified, located and then tracked throughout the enterprise. As a part of our "build-to-specs" or consulting services, we can develop specialty products such as active (battery-powered) tags, fixed readers, PDA form factor readers, and PCMCIA card readers. We also offer multi-sensor readers capable of reading unique RFID numbers along with other physical parameters, such as temperature, pressure, humidity, GPS location, and biometric data.
